I'm looking at getting a new dash pad, cause mine is cracked, rotted, and already been covered once. I'm looking at the ones in Chevy Duty as I'm gonna be making a big order from them in the near future.

They have OEM style reproductions (vinyl over foam) and Replacement style made of urethane.

I'm guessing the OEM style will look / feel better. Would / are the urethane ones stronger? Longer lasting?

the OEM style repros are $275 and the urethane replacement styles are $225 if that makes any difference.

I bought the urethane replacement one. It was not a matter of economics, simply a decision based upon the fact that the original dash pads do not last and we all know how well urethane holds up. It has only been a few months and I do not have anything bad to say about the product.

The instillation went well but had to use a low and high temp heat gun to make it fit like it would.

i went with a new GM pad for $150 to my door... found a guy on eBay, a business, that got a hold of about 100 of 'em (73-80 style) and when i bought mine about 2 months ago, he had about 41 or so left... great guy to deal with on the phone - super high quality product!

So this is a "real" GM pad?

i assume it is! the guy said it was!

the fit was there, it had the places for the tabs underneath, etc., but, i wasn't in a GM box and didn't have a GM tag anywhere...

Does the urethane pad have the metal or plastic reinforcement and provisions for the dash clips on the bottom side?

Seems like I had to buy the tabs. Either that or I bought screws. I cannot remember if the dash pad came with it but I did not want to be putting it in and then not have all the parts to assemble. The clips and or the screws were pretty reasonable. Sorry I cannot remember which one I bought. THey should be able to answer that question at the chevy duty help desk.

they sell the 4 screws and 4 plastic tabs, they are on the next page over. i don't know if they come with it or not, but its like nothing, so i'll just order it anyways and have it just in case.

so based on so far, i'm looking at the urethane. i knew the vinyl / foam ones were kinda short lived (hence mine being all cracked and generally FUBAR), but i wasn't sure if that was reason to go urethane. Awesome deal. I'll prolly order it in the next week or two.
