frame difference?

Are there any differences between a 67-72 frame and a 73-87 frame?

Yeah, the later frame humps up under the cab more. To put a 67-72 cab on a later frame you either have to do a body lift (which is ok for a 4wd but silly for a 2wd) or channel the floor of the cab.

thanks Krue. So all the cab mounts are in the same place on both frames?

This might be a little off topic but does anyone know if a bigger cab like a 2-ton cab, will fit on a 67-72 or 73-87 frame? I am not sure of the dimensions of the 2-ton cab. I don't know if it is wider or has different locations for the cab mounts. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't quote me on the cab mounts. Mudder67 has a 73+ frame under his 4x4, maybe he can help you with the particulars. In 67-72 I'm pretty sure the bigger trucks have the same cab as the 1/2 tons, with a few mods (to make room for the bigger wheel wells, etc).

If you'll look the mounts on the newer trucks go to the inside of the frame. Older trucks to the outside. In the same general area. They are also all different lengths (wheelbase).
