n00b- 68 Stepside: Central FL

Hello all,
Just wanted to get my foot in the door here, I've browsed tons and posted once but thought I should add into the n00b pages. As above, I normally drive a '68 stepside, needs a bit of work, but that's just fine with me. Unfortunately there won’t be much build-up on the truck for the next couple of months as I am currently in the Arabian Gulf supporting Marine operations. I'm posting a few pictures along with this so let me know what you think.

Looks a lot like my '69. That grille looks good. What happened to the '68 front clip?

Well honestly, what I was told and what the old title said was that it was a 68, but the front clip and the fact that the front disc brakes look stock and all the other little things, I believe it's a later year than it's registered as, or pieced together from a couple of trucks

Looks like the front was lowered so they may have swaped out the original front drum spindles to lowered disc spindles...

it's a '71-'72 front end from the looks of the grill in the first picture and the front bumper

where is the e-brake? is it a pedal or a handle? rear view mirror?

could be an older cab with new nose/front end parts like you said... sill a nice looking rig

and stay safe over there

The e-brake is below the steering column, handle type and the rear-view is mounted in the headliner and not on the window. If i could find a copy of my registration and decode the VIN, I could probably get some kind of idea... I'll do my best to keep my head above water. Good lookin' out.

Sounds like someone swapped the front clip. Looks good though. My '69 is a compilation of multiple trucks (even has some Suburban parts).

Yeh - sounds like the correct cab with a front clip and suspension swap.

normal for these trucks.

mine has parts from a whole bunch of stuff - 1973+ Front Steering and suspension, '72 Hood, '69 Cab/Frame/Clip/Bed/RearEnd, '85 Motor, '88Trans etc etc. Still looks good to me.
