Question 700R4 to NP205 Question?

I know this has been discussed on here a lot, but I can't seem to find the answer to this question: I need to know what output shaft length to use when adapting my 2WD 700R4 to my NP205? I'll be using an NP205 that was mated to a TH350 tranny, and it still has the TH350 adapter bolted to it. I'll also be using the 'spacer/adapter' from 'Red's somebody'?, that goes between the tranny and the TH350 adapter. I'm not going to use the Advance Adapters shaft, I'm using a stock GM shaft and need to know which one to use.
Do I buy the GM 13 1/4" output shaft or something else?? Oh yea, how many splines do I need on the output shaft to work with that 'Red's spacer??

Thanks a lot,
72longbed

Question

I looked in the FAQ's and can't find anything about 700R4's in there.

Can anybody help locate all those old Threads about 700R4's and 4x4's?

Thanks,

OK, I'm not sure on this spacer but I'm assuming it just bolts between the adapter and the trans. I used the A/A shaft when I did mine as I was not aware of the spacers. Spline count and tail shaft pattern are the same as the TH350, overall length is about the same as a TH400. The shaft I think your looking for is for a 4wd unit, although I'm unsure on the 2wd shafts length. I think theres a spedo drive on the 2wd shaft but am not even sure of that. I just used a K case out of a 91-92 4wd truck, used the case and the pump and everything else was modified or replaced. Including the output shaft.

I done this swap on an old 1 ton from a manual 4 speed. It's been about 10 years ago but I do remember we used an aluminum spacer block I found on an old 350. I'm thinking it was about 2 1/2 ' wide and don't remember a brand name on it. But just used the factory GM 4x4 shaft and cut it off about an inch on the chop saw and it is still working today.
