Axle and brake questions!

Ok, this was spawned partly by my want ad in the parts forum...

You guys will have to forgive my ignorance. Before I was turbocharging Hondas, I built several 60's Mustangs and a 66 Dart, so I'm kind of Chevy retarded. I have, however, always loved these trucks and decided it was finally time to pick one up.

I really don't want to run a 9 inch rear, but I'm afraid with the motor I've currently got in mind (late model 6 liter plus a turbo or two) might prove to be too much for the c clip setup.

My Nova buddy (who runs a 9 inch) says he's heard some of the c clip eliminators leak...anybody here have anything to say about a particular one?

Also, I'm wanting to get a smaller (but dual diaphram) brake booster. Anybody done that before without dropping the $250+ most places sell them for? I've seen them on Ebay, but they have no brackets...

I'd go to a Dana 60 even over a 9in. It'll take bigger axle shafts & Chev put full floater Dana 60s in the 3/4 tons. If you have leaf springs it'd be a piece of cake. Again, the 3/4t trucks used a smaller diameter booster than the 1/2 t trucks, but requires 3/4t booster mounting. Look for a used one.
