73-87's in abundance??

Just paging through the local craigslist and noticed a lot of 73-87 trucks for sale right now and some seem like pretty good deals.
The best two I saw were both Blazers - an '86 with a claimed 40k original for $4000 (looked pretty decent in the small pictures) and an '85 or '86 with a claimed 80k original with a 5000 mile old crate 350 for $3500.
Another good one was a '84 (I think) 1ton 4x4 with lots of new parts and paint for what didn't seem like a lot of money.

There is a lot down the road from me that has been sitting on a '85 or '86 Chev swb 2wd with a brand new looking engine (at least it was repainted knowing how these guys operate), headers flowmasters, 15x8 rallyes', etc, for about 3 months now. I talked to the one guy when he first got it and he wanted $5995 but said the price was going to go up when they put in a new dashpad, carpet, and some other things. When I was walking away he said they would take $3995 right now. The truck still sits on the back of the lot and they haven't done anything to it.

I was thinking that maybe with gas going through the roof right now that people were starting to unload the trucks to save money? Kind of wish I had a little spare $ right now or maybe not so many projects on the stove already!!! But then again, maybe I would have some spare $ if I didn't have these gas hog trucks tapping out my bank account!

I put mine it storage and am riding in a 1993 Bonneville with a 3800. I was thinking it would be cool in the 81. lol

I Blue Booked an 86 Silverado exactly like mine and $2800. I figure, with the trucks inflating and mine being a Custom Deluxe, they rule each other out, so it is worth about $25-2800. It is in almost perf condition as far as cosmetics (dents and all) but has a locked up torque converter which can't lower the price much. But, no, mine isn't for sale.

I just might park my '86 and start driving the model A. It gets around 23 or more miles to the gallon. Runs just like new too. Been completly restored. Do not have to buy tags every year eather. But they do not have the best brakes or steering. (no power) When you are driving one of these ol' gals, you are really dirving. You have to double clutch when shifting. But It is really fun to drive. My Grandad bought this new off of the show room floor in '31.
