Newbie Truck Owner

Just bought my first truck and thought this might be a good place to hook up with. It's a '77 C10 Custom Deluxe, 2WD, 1 owner with 39,502 miles. A friend of mine lived next door to the old gentleman who bought it new.

I wanted something to knock around with on the weekends and, on the rare occassion, pull a open car trailer. I'm fighting the temptation to show it at local shows, although it would not take much to do pretty well in the local shows.

I have some good pictures but they are too large to be uploaded. What is the largest file size and how do I resize a file?

Looking forward to learning something new.

P.S. Thanks to Jeremy/OneFaastC10 for helping with the pictures.

Man, that thing IS Clean!

IMO, the topper, running boards, and hub caps gotta go Chrome front bumper with bumperettes would be very slick too

But, it isn't my truck, so I better get bustin my butt to make mine nice again :P

Very nice man!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yeah, I know the cap and boards really make this thing look like an "old man's truck". Of course, it was owned by a 89 year-old guy. Speaking as a 56 year-old, I'm not quite there yet (I have noticed that "there" gets pushed back every year).

At the moment, by wife is not quite as pumped about this thing as she will be. For you married guys/persons, that translates into laying low on the improvements for a bit. This is not the first time a motor vehicle followed me home from an auction, so I have been through this before.

Again, thanks for the assistance with the pictures and welcome.

Hey, we all know that program. Just make sure you keep us posted when you do make improvements. The good thing about this forum is you have someone to blame things on that doesn't live close by....

Welcome to the forum.....

Thanks for the heads up. Just a reminder to you about the swap meet car show in valpo aug 21-22. The spring one was good plus there was 5500 motorcycles. Last falls aug show was decent for a small community. There probably won't be any motorcycles this show but there will be some nice cars and trucks.
It's at the Porter County fairgrounds just a little south of rt 30 on the 49 bypass.

On behalf of all of us in Valpo, thanks for the plug. Actually, I help with the show. On Saturday they have an auction and on Sunday, a judged car show. There is a cruise on Saturday night sponsored by Valpo Vettes. Lots of vendors. I believe this is the 22nd show.

I wish my '77 looked like that, it has the same paint color, but some rust to go with it. What engine/trans combo does it have? Definately agree with removing the topper, running boards, and hubcaps.
