front suspension
I'm getting ready to take the front crossmember off an 85 and putting it on my 69. I can't find the post about how to do it. Anyone have it handy?

I know Geezer had posted about doing this with the front end out of a 1988 suburban. I tried to search for it , but the search feature is disabled. Basically you unbolt it from the donor vehicle and bolt it in your truck. I think that there were 4 holes that needed to be enlongated. He said that it was an easy swap. I will be trying the same swap in the next month or two and anticipate no problems.

But you get that from the spindle disc setup from a correct disc brake assembly with out the crossmember

Well i can't speak for the other guy . I have no disc brake parts for my 67. What i do have is a 88 suburban with 300,000 miles on it. So i can have a front disc setup with a little work and little or no cash out of pocket.

So I just jack it up, unbolt it, roll it out and put the new one in?

Pretty much. You might have to drill a couple of holes (or don't who's looking).
If you don't want to do the whole crossmember you can do all the upper and lower control arms/steering stuff. I would suggest doing the whole crossmember though...much safer (don't have to deal with taking the springs out)

I'll probably try and take the old one out tonight then. I'll go see if I can take some pictures real quick.
