I dont see why you need this bracket. its a common thing to get tossed, and is not found on later years. Plus, you could just make your own and make it without copyin OEM, but I just dont get it.

Thats what I'm doing...making my own. There are two different types, one like yours and another that mounts up to the inner fender. When you lift one of these 3/4 ton dual 11" boosters, a full master cylinder and pro valve assemblies you'll realize that is about 30-35lbs hanging off the 4 bolts on the firewall. Later years like the mid 70's went to a six bolt mount bracket. The master cylinder reaches almost out to the backside alternator. (at least on my truck) Combined with the fact I like to drive in rough areas and I treat it like a work truck I just don't want it to wear through or snap a brake line from flexing when I least expect it. It's just my ounce of prevention. I've had that happen once before and it's no fun stepping on the pedal and Ssshhhheeesss..... your foot sinks to the floor and your not slowing down. The brake line had worn through from flexing at the point where it loops over the frame rail and I came REAL close to rear-ending a car, luckly I down shifted and hit the E-brake in time.
