There is little info on the whole internet on this conversion. I have most of my parts together. Im still looking for a reverse rotation fan and fan clutch. I have no idea when im going to get to it.

Got one on my truck as well. Not much to explain, except make sure you get a reverse rotation water pump.

One thing I would like to know is, the missing bolt hole on the passenger side head. Do you really need to drill and tap? I hear you can get away without it

If I have a short pump on my truck and the kit comes with a long, should I modify my fan shroud or just take it off completely and not worry about it?
What do you think of this setup?

Yes you can. Got that info direct from GM Performance parts. Been running mine as a DD for over a year now with no issues. Mine came of a 91 3/4 ton Chevy. That is the info I give for idlers, belts and what-not. I use an electric fan. Dunno where to steer ya for one that will squeeze in there.

According to some GM gurus you can safely get by without drilling the P\S head just run the braces to be on the safe side.
I got my fan and clutch off of a 9C1 Caprice.
Also with my setup a stock fan shroud will not work, I am using a BB shroud.

I may go with electric fans. What are some options, I know its been discussed but near impossibe to find.

One option I just read suggests F*rd Taurus dual fans.

Also how have you guys wired these up? Full time? Thermo controlled? Im very interested..Thanks.

Would like to see some pics of installed serpentines(including brace areas) and electric cooling fans if anyone would take the time.

Crappy pick of the brace. You can see it mounted to the back of the tensioner and the intake manifold. If you look close you can see there was no nut on the manifold portion, just the stud is sticking up. Good pick of the fans though. That is a Flex-a-lite 395. Another member relocated the controller enlarged the by-pass hole and fabbed up a new flap. If I had it to do over I would do the same. More effiecient(sp?) that way for highway speeds. Drawback to these is the controller. If it fries you are hosed. It is everthing to the fans. Temp sender and relay is integrated. You can toss it and wire it up like any other fan but I like the features the contoller offers. It has 2 stage fan speeds, +or- a/c signal input, temp input, man. off/on, status indicator led's... in short it makes it easy for a slacker like me. Oh,It uses a temp bulb inserted into the radiator at the return.

It is listed as fitting our trucks in flex-a-lite's aplication guide. I could not figure out how to use any of the brackets that came with it though. I made my own mounts and so has everyone else that I have saw usung this fan.

I like this fan but think all the junk-yard fans a lot of people are using is a smart idea. (Provided they will keep temps down) They are a lot cheaper! This one just looked cool, had the rated cfm's I knew would work and had some cool electronics features to make wiring easy.
