filth flarin flipping @#%%^ bolts!

trying to get the last bracket off the old motor so I can finish up sandblasting and painting.

thats right the one last bolt..

this is on the rear most part of the AC bracket that mounts to the exhaust manifold.

wrench slipped right off, socket stripped it further. (yep soaked everything for several days...

oh well the head is already round so might as well go after the vise grips...

now it is more round..

I tried hammering on a smaller 6 point socket... good thing craftsman has a lifetime warranty!

pipe wrench, nope...

broke three sawzall blades

new freshly sharpened titanium bit in high speed air drill barely puts a dent!!!

any suggestions?!?!?

socket weld a nut to the head of the bolt

You may also want to strke the bolt on the head (like a nail), this will dislodge some of the corrosion that has it stuck.

I don't have a welder, but I think I know where I can borrow one... what do you mean "socket" weld?

You can weld another bolt to the head of the bolt you are trying to remove, or if you have plenty of room around it you can weld a peice of steel to the head at 90 degrees to it to give you something to lever on, that bit of heat freom the welding helps to loosen it as well, Good luck

Blue tip wrench? Once you get the manifold (if I'm thinking of the right bolt) off, you'll have more of the bolt to work with.
