I'll start the what got done on the weekend.
Well I might as well start off with what I got done. I relocated my battery to the back, put the cut off switch in the bumper, and mounted the remote terminals under the hood. I also replaced my plastic fuel cell with a aluminum one, redid the fuel line with a billet suction filter and shut off valve. I would have posted a pic of the hole I cut in my dint free box for the sump, but I didn't want to make the "keep her original" guy's upset.

My oldest(10) helped me tighten down all the bolts in my 8' stepside bed floor, and install the steps I had. Got the form up for my driveway, got 9 yds coming tomorrow.

1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

I installed header gaskets on a 1996 Formula LT-1(hooker super comp headers) pain in the A$$, replaced a dip stick tub on a 1995 Camaro, installed headers, plugs, built a bracket for my alternator on my 1969/1971 Chevy truck, installed a Hurst shifter(had to replace a section of aluminum floor some dumba$$ installed to mount the shifter on, and tryed to get it running. Straightened the shop(happens every weekend) and drank all the beer in my shop!

Man that's a sharp application ya got there Drag!
I actually got to work on my project for the first time in several months. Learning as I go I'm doing a cab swap. Got everything outta the cab except front/rear glass, fuel tank, steering column, and brake assembly. Not sure how to go about removing the glass so I'll probably have to do a Q&A post on that...lol

got the 71 regestered and insured friday and on saturdaydrove it more than 50 feet for the first time.
3 miles to be exact  thats all i had time for had to go to work, besides i didnt wanna were out that (my new truck) feiling.  man what a smooth ride. im off for the next 3 days you can bet ill be going for i little cruise this week. gotta show here off

Welded in the patch panels on my hood brace panel. Turned out pretty good.

Sweated my a$$ off in 100 deg Texas heat
Fabricated and installed three point seat belt brackets, modified and installed Mazda fuel door opening mechanism, installed Firebird side marker lights, wired up A/C compressor, installed hood lock, plumbed gas tank vent, measured requirements for TPI tubing and several other punch list items.....

I helped Wootdogs brother Josh do some bodywork on his truck bed, and my daughter's prom date shot a couple coats of paint on the cab. Josh shot a couple coats too, we'll have some pics to post soon.

Oh since I haven't used my washer fluid in 17 years, I also removed the bottle and bracket, just to balance the weight I lost from the battery LOL.

installed my lift kit and shocks. PITA to do without a gas axe for those 35 YO u bolts!! but it sure looks nice! also installed new header gaskets(again). this time i took advice from you guys and used regular manifold gaskets and hi temp sealer. it sounds good now, i just hope it lasts for more than 3k miles.

I went to the NHRA drag races in Brainerd saturday. I took my wife and son (9 and a total gearhead). We watched Tony Schumacher break more track records and almost the NHRA record for mph at over 337. He ran twice with ets of 4.44 and 4.48. Oh yeah, they all ran well and it was my first time back since 1995, before the boy was born. There may be some correlation between the mother breathing in all those nitro-methane fumes and tire smoke and him being afflicted with gearheadedness. I can think of worse things, but he has a long, sometimes painful, therapy to deal with. I'm trying my best to be understanding and supportive of his interests, but dammit, he wants to take my truck in a few years, then I'll have to find new therapy. My oldest girl is named Shelby, for the AC Cobras. Maybe I'll buy a kit...

I opened the door to the shop and saw my truck as I pulled out the mower. I was on the road most of the weekend driving to and from my daughter's school. Mowed the pasture land, least it seemed that way in the heat/humidity.

I recieved shipment of a 67 short step project from another member. it came with a butt-load of extra parts which needed a home. then I cleaned ou the garage & reinforced the roof joists. (gotta make room for parts up above) then I got a call from Dean & Crystal saying they are about 2 hours away. we ended up with a total of 5 board members here for a mini meet. I had a great time BSing with all of them. thankfully I had a pair of Honda buckets & a Chevy bench seat. sorry, no pics, the batteries in digicam were dead.

I fixed my power steering pressure hose leak :crosses fingers: And worked on degreasing the engine from months of PS fluid leakage. PO thought the way to fix the leak was just to fill more PS fluid in the resevoir.
Oh yea... did a lil of this  too.

Finished up replacing the inner rocker, kick, front pillar and outer rocker on the passenger side of the Burb. Now it's time to move onto the driver side.

no car related stuff/ fri and sat nights i was up min the attics ran a new bigger improved 8" ac duct so it dumps right in the middle of the shop for better more even cooling/also in the house attic ran the duct for the kitchen vent hood, also had to reposition the v220v line for the stove and ran new circuits for the dishwasher,venthood,and accessory outlets
during the days i rented a heavyduty planer/ been slo drying and curing these new england tight grained oak planks for almost 3years 16-18" wide by 31/2thick by 8-10' long so i was busy planing ripping and cutting to dimension for cabinet and shelf projects// got them inside storeage for the final drying session 3-4months b-4 final sanding to dimension// got huge bags of oak sawdust and shavings to dispose of now// hopefully i'll be able to finally finish up the kitchen b-4 speedweeks next year

Installed my new Edelbrock carb, & old restored, MT valve covers. Then I started the motor and watched it over heat !! I'll tackle that problem next weekend.....
