18" wheel/tire combo sizing

Hey guys, I recently sold my 20" wheels/tires from my '03 to get some scratch together to buy some rollers for the '67. I want to get some 18's for it so I still have a little meat on the sidewalls. What backspacing should I get for the wheels to tuck? Also what size tire do you recommend? Heck, I may even be open to do a 18/20 combo. Probably 8" wide front and rear if I stay with 18's, and 8" front, 10" rear if I got 18/20. Thanks!

Up front, 18x8's w/245-45 or 235/50 using 5" back spacing. Out back, 18x10's w/295/45-18's or 20x10's 295/40-20's using 5" back spacing.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

here's a question ... not meaning to hijack your thread 67fleet, but I have four 18" x 8.5" Billet Specialties Pomona's that I picked for a steal. I would like a little side wall in the rear too ... what would you guys recommend for this wheel combination?

I was thinking about 245 - 45's on the front ... but unsure of the rear.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Backspacing is 4.5" if I remember correctly.

They are brand new ... never had tires mounted on them. Yeah ... I will sell them.

PM me ... we can talk.

Billet Specialties GTX 40 - was known as the "Pomona" when the GTX line was called the Premier line. The matching steering wheel is still known as the Pomona.
