auto dim rear view mirror wiring
I found a donnelly brand rear view mirror out of a 2000 impala at the wrecking yard today. It has map lights and auto dim, but no compass or temp.there is a seven pin plug in the back of the mirror with 5 wires being used. (blue, gray, green, black, and brown) any ideas where I might find the color codes to wire this? thanks, steve

You could ask the shop foreman or a mechanic at a GM dealership to let you look at a wiring schematic for it, or maybe even make a copy of that page.

most likly black is ground and brown is power for somthing. If I was you I would just play with it. It's a light bulb not like you can really hurt anything.

thanks for the replies, I will just try it out if I don't come up with anything definite. Not worried about hurting the light, but I would like the auto dim to work.
