I just swaped to a new alt. I no longer have the over charging problem.
I bought new headlights installed them and Now I only have high beams I hit the brand new floor switch to low and I can hear the the light switch in the dash clicking. What is wrong do I need a new switch also ? Anyone have any suggestions ? Thanks,

Did you change your regulator or your alternator ? I had the exact problem, new regulator fixed the problem. make sure your connections to the light are good, make sure you have a ground well grounded. Check to see if you have power to the headlights.
Good luck

Mebbe the floor switch is bad? Disconnect the plug from it and use a ohm meter to check for continuity. Click it and see if its any good.

That clicking in the light switch is actually a circuit breaker. If there's an overload or a short, it shuts off the power to the lights.
