I have a short in my blinkers, they come on when I step on the brakes. what should I start to look at? Anyone have this problem before? I have new engine harness and front light harness. could it be the sockets? they look like crap. thanks for any pointers

When did it start doing this? Just started all at once, after I did --.

just noticed it. It has had a new engine and front harness 4 months ago. I didn't notice a problem though. I'm sure it could be lot's of things. I haven't done anyting to the wiring besides the new harness. the blinkers work, but when I step on the brake pedal the drivers side running lights come on.

Sounds like it is in your turn signal switch. If you have another switch just plug it in to the connector and check to see if it still does it. If not you have found your problem. Also check to see if all the wire colors match on both sides of the connector to the turn signal switch. A wire plugged in wrong will cause this problem.
