fixing am radio yourself?

has anyone ever rebuilt their am radio? i took mine by a shop and it is dead. they quoated me about 70 - 90 bucks to get it working !!!! wow! \

so, me being me, im wondering how hard can it be? id rater spend 90 bucks on specail tools and take a class if needed to fix it myself. then i know how to do it and can fix others.


anyone have exsperience with this kind of stuff

I have one. Dont know if it works or not(could try to find out). Chrome is pitted also.

Arm inside of it wasnt working when I got it from the yard, I opened it and fixed it(although I dont remember what I did to it now)

Whats wrong with it. Why not just pick up another for 15 bux and swap all of the chrome and knobs. The problem might be the anntenna too, did you check it?

IT WAS CHECKED BY THE RAIDO GUY, LIGHT COMES ON , NO OUT PUT..

I COULD JUST BUY ONE, BUT IT PROB WONT WORK (OR WONT WORK FOR LONG) EITHER! LOL. THE ON I HAVE LOOKS PERFECT, ITS THE ORGINAL ONE TO THE TRUCK, KINDA WANT TO KEEP IT.
