I'm just wondering how much money others put into their trucks. I've had my truck for 3/4 of a year and have already poured around 2500 into it. The guy before also put about 2500 into it.

I,ve had mine ~7 years and I'd say over $5000 but thats all new drive train i.e. Motor, Tranny, frontend, rearend ect ect. Interior is done spent $1200 there. Next is paint $$$$$$$$I do most work myself so I believe thats not that much. However I dont think I'll EVER be done.

hmmm... in just 5 weeks.....
600 for the truck
200 to get it home i.e. steering wheel, oil, seat cover
250 on brakes so far, new drums, new rotors, new shoes, new pads, new rear lines, new wheel cylinders.

The satisfaction of waking my neighbors up in the middle of the night with a rumble... priceless...

So, 1150 for a bunch of rust and the beginnings of a truck.

In my 71 burb, I have $3500 for the original purchase back in '93. Then exterior paint and a little body work for $3200 in '95. In '99 she got an engine and tranny rebuild for around $2000 including alot of new stuff for under the hood. That makes it around $8700 over 9 years, or $81 a month. What's the monthly payment for a new suburban these days? I'll take mine any day.

Bought it in 85 for $500.00. Started rebuild in 93 and have about $7,500 to $10,000 in it so far, and it ain't even on the street yet. But, when it's done, I'll have a brand new 1970 GMC, 2500, LWB, Fleetside, 350 with grandma 4spd. pickup truck. Going over everything from bumper to bumper, top to bottom. (8/2/09) Here's a couple pics after 7 years. A little here, a little there. Closer now, but still not done.

My 72 chevy pickup short step side was a gift from my oldest brother, when I was in high school. Five years later my older brother drove my truck drunk and crash in to an 18 wheeler. That accident was in 95, so far I've have spent $3000 trying to put it back together myself.

Got mine in '82 from my father(price undisclosed) $162 for 2 mufflers two tail pipes. in '84 trans rebuild $895. In "85 top end(cam gearspun all plastic torn off) cost about $690 cam, double roller, 8 push rods, 8 exhaust valves. normal maint. so for $1795 and 20 years it has been the most reliable ride I have ever run. Now the better half(wife ) has decided that we can sink $10,000 into a new motor and body work because the new trucks for $36,000-43,000 wont last as long or be as worry free.

I have around $1500 in mine so far, only because I'm a body man and an engine builder, with a buddy that upholsters. I hope to complete my truck with a grand total of $3000!

I've probably got about $15,000 in mine. My dad probably stuck $6,000 into it and I covered the rest.
Just this year I spent
$800 in wheels
$600 in tires
$200 in posi
$500 in tranny
$250 in torque converter
$200 in drive shaft (had to shorten once, and bent it once)
$80 in flip kit
$80 for speakers
$45 into carpeting box
AND TONS MORE TO GO
