The frames are shaped differently, and the chassis's are different length. Someone should have the exact measurements.

Pretty much the 4x4 frame will accept a burb body. The differences are that you need to use the rear cab support from the burb onto the 4x4 truck frame, and the three or so brackets off the top of a burb frame to mount the burbs body as the truck 4x4 frame would have brackets to mount a pickupbox which will have to be removed..there riveted on.

Look at GMC Pauls web site home page the 1970 GMC Blue 3/4 4x4 GMC was made using a 70 Chev suburban 3/4 4x4 frame I owned..friend built that truck in 3 weeks...he was good at that type stuff.

Even if the burb was 2wd to start with use the same brackets I mentioned on the 4x4 frame....just gotta watch the height that the rear cab support is mounted at. I got a 4x4 burb here if you need a measurement or few or pics when your at it.
The wheel bases are the same.

The truck frame will be shorter at the back end as it was cut for a truck box..maybe 6 -8 inches were cut off..you could cut the back of the burbs frame to get the added lenght welded on.

Not a big deal if your going for it.

burb

The frame rails are the same. The body/bed mounts are different. My plow truck is a LWB fleetside on a '71 burb frame. I had to add rear cab mounts and the front 2 box mounts on each side.................Z

I recently noticed that the first exhaust hanger bracket back from the engine is farther back on my '72 4x4 pickup than on my '71 4x4 burbs. The burbs have it near the xfer case; the pickup has it nearer the rear springs.
