Clean Tool Box Bed F/S

Hi all, I am new to the board and am restoring a 1972 C/10 STEPSIDE. I purchased a second truck for parts and it has a long wide bed with a built in toolb on the passanger side both inner and outter....(Fully Functional). These seem to be hard to find. This is a New Mexico truck so bed has a little surface rust but none that has eaten through the metal. The outter bed is all in prime with no dents and the tailgate was put on later and is in typical shape (Rough) for a 30 year old truck. What would this bed be worth?

Thanks Doug

understood on it being entire bed...was just trying to give you some sort of reference point on what the entire thing would sell for...good luck on your sale.

Bed is located just noth of Albuquerque, I-25 at the 242 exit. Also have a straight, never been wrecked rust free frame with title, Cab with correct VIN, both doors both fenders and two hoods. RT Fender is a little rough...Cab floor has rust along the door sills....everthing else is clean. I removed engine, auto sterring coulmn, exaust and drivetrain...no need for the rest as mine is a 67.000 mile clean NM truck. make offer and you haul.

welcome to the board.
Your best bet...would be to remove the door and inner box from the bed, and sell it. Then, sell teh frame and assorted body parts. The bed will be next to worthless...but the door is what will make you seriouse cash...enough to pay for the whole parts truck probably.
Put the door on e-bay with a $300 reserve and watch them fight over it. 69 - 72 only, not made in reproduction....make sure you say those two things in the listing.

That's what I'd do anyways.

Sorry Geezer IM using the mounts for the engine swap. Thx LongHorn Man, maybe I will do that..It just seems a shame to take it off a perfectly straight bed. I also need a driveline for a V8 with a 350 auto...in a short bed...anybody have one?

Welcome to the board from East Tenn. I have a sister that lives in Alb. If you can establish a price on the bed and can make a deal I can have my brotherinlaw pick it up. PM me if you are interested.

Try to sell the whole bed for at least $500.The doors are reproduced in fiberglas for $315.

You`ve never actually posted a price. That would help(also required).Be patient, what you have is in demand. It`s a big item,so hard to ship and expensive. It`ll probably be a regional sale.Lot`s of members in TX.

Thanks, Special-K...

I will ask your recomended price of $500.00, and entertain offers. If nothing else I will cut he fram and have a nice trailer to match my truck. I did see the tool box door alone selling for $300.00 So I think $500.00 is fair for the entire bed. When my wife gets home I will have her take some shots with her digital camera and post them for everybody. I apologize to the board I didn't realize when I posted that prices were required. I honestly had no idea what it would be worth.

Thanks Doug

Well, you were just trtying to get a value and sell in the same post. It`s ok to ask for opinions on value prior to offering for sale.I wasn`t playing cop, just thought it would help your sale if you established a price. And`keep you from getting popped.
