67-72 trucks with 6 lugs

Lets see what different wheels look like on a 6 lug 67-72. I have the stock white ones on my 70 and want to change them but I am not sure what I want yet. I'll start with a few.

I really would like to see some more 6 lug ralley's.

I currently have the same wheels on my '67 as on the black truck in the above pic. I just ordered some 20x8.5" Raceline Phat Diva wheels that should be to me next friday. See below pic. I'm still undecided about what size tire I'm going to run. Thinking something along the lines of a 255/35/20.

Thanks. It's a 20 footer though. hehe. Not sure of the exact color code of the red. It's going to be re-painted within the year. I'm still undecided on if I'm going to keep the color or try something different. Might do a 2-tone red and white. White on upper cab.

Those aren`t the same wheels as in the first picture. That truck has American Racing wheels.I believe they`re called Torque Thrust Ds.

My, that is an astute observation. However you failed to realize that I pointed out that mine are "the same as the black truck". That would be the truck in the 3RD PICTURE.

I don't, but I'll try and get some and post them in a few days for you. It's at the tranny shop right now getting a new LuK Pro Gold hi-perf clutch installed.

Up front they fit fine, but I found on my last set of wheels from my '03 that the rear axle flange is too big in diameter for the newer hub wheels. 3-1/2" vs. 3". So I'm pulling my axles and taking them to a machine shop to have the flange honed down. Shouldn't be too difficult. If you're referring to anything else in your question, let me know and I'll try to answer.

so your saying the axle flange is too big of diameter on the old one and it has to be made smaller? How much is this gonna cost?

The wheels are boyd coddington, They were on the truck when i bought it. I dont know the line but I was told they are billett patriots. 18" unsure on width, 5inch backspacing. They have the same problem as 67fleet. But I am having the rear wheels machined so they fit the axles (material removed from the inside of the wheel). The smart guy before stacked washers on so it would "fit" seems like a lot of what was done to this truck wasent done right at all.

I'm pulling the axles myself, so machining alone will prolly run me $50- or less. It's not a lot of work. I could probably do it myself with an angle grinder and a cutting wheel if I had the patience, but I want to make sure everything is done the right way the first time. I'm a stickler for details.

yea, it think it would be easier to have the wheels themselves machined like fletch is, because that way you dont have to mess with your axle shafts. my truck has non-stock rims, so does anyone have a pic of what part needs to be trimmed back on the axle shaft itself? i want this cuz i want to see if i take my wheel off if maybe mine has already been fixed....

You will be able to see if its not sitting right, (as long as there are some big spaces inbetween the spokes in your rims) mine had like a 1/2 gap between wheel and brake drum, and there were longer wheel studs put in, the PO probally spent more time gettin the wheels to fit wrong then if he just had them machined.

I know a tire shop and machinest, so im gettin it done pretty cheap too.
