You can do it without cutting driveshaft, but you have to relocate the engine crossmember. You will also need to get an new tailshaft from advance adapters or run a spacer between the tranny and the transfer case. You will need a TV cable to hook the tranny to your carb as well. I am sure I am missing a few things. I would tell you to use the search function but for some reason they have it turned off.

the 700 is a longer trans. so putting the spacer and moving the crossmember will make the rear driveshaft shorter would it not?i checked the 350 and the 700 .the 700case is 2.5 inch. longer..

Leave the tranny crossmember alone and move the engine crossmember. You gain valuable distributer space for running a HEI.

git-r-stuck, Welcome to the board!! You won't find a better place. No, I have not changed the trannie yet. I am considering putting a 454 & 700r4 in my 67 K10. I'm trying to get all the info I can up front, may do it this winter. I live in Lesslie next to Shandon (housing developement next to the reservation). Where are you? There is at least 1 other member here that lives in Rock Hill near Kmart.....69novass, I'm supposed to visit him Tues or Wed sometime. He is building a 4wd, 72 I think. Can you meet also? I'm currently on nightshift. By the way, what's your REAL name? Greg

p.s. Add the city to your profile (I think) and it will be there when you're selling or buying and people don't have to ask.

I'm going to TRY to get by Greg's house tomorrw (Wed) around 2:30 on my way to a side job before I go to work nightshift. I said try, because it has alot to do with what time I can get up. If I don't make it or you can't, we can always look at other days. I'm working nights thru Sunday night. Greg
