My truck's bed seems a bit soft...
Greetings all,
I noticed today when I was loading a smallblock chev w/TH350 attached and a flathead ford engine for a Model A into my truck that the bed was a little soft. Below shows what I found when I took the time to investigate: Incidently, no tools were used to remove the wood from the bed, only my hands...

My GMC's old bed looked similar to the last pic when I pulled my wooden bed-liner out. Cept mine used to be a steel floor, lol

All in all -- it looks pretty good. New wood ought to fix 'er right up.
Hey, look at it this way -- the rainwater will drain well.

Only surface rust which will be wire-brushed off and Rust-morted. The Flathead is a spare engine that I need to fix the lifters in that belongs to a customer. Ogier

Maybe I should skip the wood and put some lexan back there instead....
Then I could lower it and put 40 inch wheels on it and call it custom... Um, Maybe not... Ogier

i would like to see a lexan bed floor done , not on any of my trucks but i think it would be pretty cool on a truck with a detailed frame , but its gotta be the slats with the metal strips not one full piece.
has this been done before ???
