Help? Wiring Harness Question.
I am installing a new wiring harness on my 69 SWB Step. I do not have the junction box that goes on the passenger fender, but I have one on the way. My question is, what all wires need to be hooked to the junction box? I believe the two in the picture below, but are there any more..maybe coming from the battery? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Only those 2. The red one is your main power wire (black part is a fuse link to protect betweem juction block and fuse panel). Other is the feed for your amp gauge (has a 4 amp fuse in it).

The positive battery cable should have a 16g fusible link wire run from terminal to the junction, the red 12g connects to it and I am assuming that you have a gauge dash and if so the black 18g wire should also connect at the junction block in order for amp gauge to work.
Thats it though for a gauge truck, if non-gauge then no black wire. GMCPaul |

Junction Block

Thanks. GMC Paul, are you saying I need to run a wire from the positive terminal to the junction block also...so three wires attached to it? I do have a gauge dash. When you say fusible link, do I need to buy a fuse housing...what size fuse do I use? Thanks again. I thought the wiring harness would be labelled. I could not really compare to my old since it was so butchered and I switched from lightsn to gauges.

What they said...Only the red to the Battery and the black with the inline fuse. Check the continuity on the fuse though and make sure its good now before the junction block gets there. Jeff.
