grain truck cabs

i was wondering are grain truck cabs the same as 1/2 ton cabs or are they different, is there anything on a grain truck you can use on a 1/2 ton like sheet metal parts that is ?

Are you talking about Medium-Duties,like C/50s and 60s?They have differences in fender mounting and the lower front corners are different.The fenders go into the doors.

Assuming you are taking about the c/40 and up, there is very little that is a direct swap. Some of them have doors that will swap, most do not. Cabs are way differant, and most of the bolt on items do not fit directly.

Look for Instrument panels with a stock tach.
interior features are the same

floors & firewalls are different also.
the windshields & heater boxes are about the only things that are the same

Even the inst panel is not a direct swap. You'll need a new bezel.
Also look at the tach before spending any money. Some had diesel tachs which are even more worthless than a 30 year old stock tach that doesn't go to redline.

Special K, that is what I'm doing with my dually. Here is mine since I restored it. I am going to yard with a bunch of 67 - 72 med trucks. If I find another one, I'll give you a shout.
