I believe it has the highlander package and that's why the seat looks that way. Not very good pictures for that expensive of a truck.

No, not the highlander package, the cloth had a different patternand it would've been different color too, that seems like a recently reupholstered seat.

looks freshly done. i don't think they came with white piping like that. it's a beautiful truck though, so who cares.

Seat

Never seen a seat like that in over 300 trucks. Rest of truck looks nice though. Did you win the bid?

Thanks guys for the response. As typical on EBAY, the high bidder, with 0 feedbacks backed out. i was then contacted to see if I wanted the truck. Might be a schill bid situation. he has a 12,000 reserve on the truck. I am waiting for better photos and a photo of the glove box decal.

Would the short bed Sierra Grande have the "Sierra Grande" emblem on the sies of the bed or just the " Sierra" emblem as he has .

Thanks again and I look forward to being a regular on the forum!!

I have a`72 GMC that is a Sierra but has SierraGrande typed on the VIN-spec sheet. The seat on that is not original.Weren`t Highlanders a Chevy thing?I can`t tell from the pictures, but is the instrument panel woodgrain like the glovebox door?Sierras weren`t woodgrain on instrument panel or glovebox.SierraGrandes were on both. All others, including Sierras, had the same color as vinyl on these parts.Looks like it originally had a Dark Olive interior.

Here's the seat on that truck you posted:

And here's another pic with the correct cloth and vinyl pattern:

And a close up of the right color piping as well:

Also that color in the truck you posted seems to be a different shade, maybe is just me and that the pics were taken inside a garage that's trowing me off

Thanks for the photos. Check the shots I just posted. I noticed that the door panels are different as well. (molded vs flat) Is this a "deluxe interior" thing like they had on cars? Thanks again...

nice gmc

very nice truck. Will be curious to how your research and eventual purchase if so comes out. At least someem of the paint looks fresh but that could be ok. Those bed cover snaps make me cry, only downside if any.

It also looks like inside of fenders was painted black, never seen this but you probably have alot of the story if your talking with owner on the phone.

tempted to take my sons 71 to stock rather than restify.

The door panels in the photos of the factory seat are from 70/71.The seat material is not ChetenneSuper/SierraGrande ,it should be houndstooth cloth inserts. That photo is of CustomDeluxe(71)Custom(70)/SuperCustom fabric.Just so you know, dual exhaust only came with the big block.Once again, doesn`t bother me.It`s what I`d do,and have.
