Good Price Heads Up Boys And Girls!!!
I order a lot of stuff from this company for both my Chevys and Hondas. They've got a special on S&B air filters now, and they're perfect for our trucks. I think the other brands K&N, Accel, even Summit are upwards of $40 for most 14" diameter round filters.
Hope you all save some money like I did! http://www.bakerprecision.com/snbsale.htm |

Is that a washable filter like the K&N and Air Hog?

Yep, oiled gauze. And if you ask S&B, theirs is the best, of course
Seriously though, they're great filters. http://www.sbfilters.com/ Last edited by mplex2000; 09-09-2005 at 11:08 AM. |

UPS Ground, I don't believe they upcharge. I went ahead and ordered a bunch of other stuff I needed to make the shipping more worthwhile, but hell even if they charged $10 to ship it you'd still be under half price of a K&N at the store! Got to love it..

This type of filter has came up in discussion before. Saved the link another member posted. Won't say anything bad. Just let the facts speak for themselves. http://home.usadatanet.net/~jbplock/ISO5011/SPICER.htm

Been using them for 15 years though man. Never once had an engine go bad on me using gauze filters.
If you look in the current issue of Muscle Car there is yet another test which indicates the opposite of what you just posted, which is an increase in horsepower(they don't test filtration, only dyno tests). Most tests I've seen show that an oiled gauze filter filters better AND flows better than the paper. I guess everyone needs to make up their own minds, and of course I don't care if you like them or buy them, but my experience with them has been nothing but good. I have one in my 04 Tahoe, my 01 Galant, my turbo Civic and now on my 350 truck. MPG went up by 2 on the Galant after I installed the K&N panel, btw. This guy did not dyno the filters, but continues to say that paper filters perform the same as gauze on the dyno. Oh well. Enjoy everybody! Last edited by mplex2000; 09-09-2005 at 04:07 PM. |

I'VE BEEN USING THEM FOR AT LEAST 15 YEARS ALSO, WITH NO PROBLEM. I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO WITH MY OWN REAL WORLD EXPERIANCE, & NOT SOME EXPERTS OPINION. JOHN
(THANKS FOR THE INFO )
