Firewall and winshield install

I have seen a post on here about installing one of these My blazer has been rolled and I found a new windshield frame and fire wall at a junkyard for 50 bucks its in almost perfect condition. How hard is this going to be to change Would apreciate any help Will have to get photos posted soon Thank you

How do you intend to do the swap? When I took mine apart to repair/replace parts, its fairly easy, if time consuming. The firewall is welded across the bottom to the floor pans with the rocker boxes over the top of that. Across the top of the firewall, you just drill out the spot welds where the windshield washer hoses run thru. This will remove the firewall. To get to the windshield frame, you have to do all that, plus drill all the spot welds in the A pillar, down the kick panels and separate the dash from the windshield frame. Its much more involved. Several have replaced the windshield frame just by cutting the top of the A pillar off about 2 or 3 inches above the bottom of the windshield frame.

Guess its really up to you and how comfortable you are with the work and what you will have when you finish. I know now, that every piece of sheet metal in mine is solid, coated and tight. Good luck, Jeff.

I've done it using a truck firewall and grafting a blazer windshield frame to it.

I am getting the whole thing windshield frame still hooked to firewall Its all in very good shape and was planning on going across the floor with new rockers and boxes Thank you for input

If the top rail is still straight on yours save it as some of us guys just need the top portion . good luck
