F'in frame is BENT..
The frame is unuseable. BOTH frame rails are bent just in front of the rear cab mount. One side even buckled. Short frame
Thanks for letting me vent.

Is it something that a frame shop could pull/straighten?

Hmmmmmm....that doesn't look like a TX frame...a little too much corrosion on it. I agree...call a frame shop. LWB frames are a dime a dozen around here but moving them is a real pain. That is why I still have one in my pasture. Free if you want it! I am sure another board member has one in your area. Look at this way...good chance to have the new one powder coated!

I agree, get another frame, there seem to be plenty advertised here
Unless a shop has some good equipment, it will NEVER be the same. |

I knew I had my work cut out putting my leaf rear on this coil frame. But the fact that it's bent, kills the plans now. I wish I could find a short, leaf frame that is BARE. I have everything to put on it off of my DD 71 long bed. Once I have the drivetrain and cab on, I'll begin the search for a bed.

Find a good (laser equipment) frame shop and have them give you an estimate of the cost and the how straight it will be when finished. A short frame is difficult to find anywhere. The last one I found was bent.

I am in the process of stripping a long frame (I need the coils and holders to put on a short frame that had been bagged) and haven't made plans yet on what to do with it when I am done yet.

I have a long frame already. I was trying to avoid cutting one down. I know where 2 short frames are for $250 ea.

A swb frame was my problem also. Called a frame shop and they said it would cost $50 to hook it to the machine and $250 per pull. Also he said most frames require 3 pulls on average to straighten very few will be straight after one pull since a slight twist in addition to the bend makes pull #2 and then it is on to the second frame rail!

I got a frame that was shortened down from a longbed frame. The pic is in the 67-72 parts forum.
