Just when you feel like you only have bad luck

Crazy how sometimes things just dont go your way & sometimes they do. Tonight Im standing in the driveway getting my first glance at my 69 after just finishing my rear flip kit. A new Ford pickup pulls up & the driver says "Nice truck, do you have a box for it?" I said yes but I have to work on it some. He tells me he has a nice 71 & a junker 71. We BS for a few & then he jumps back into his Ford. He says "Follow me". Ive seen his nice truck & it is nice so Im following him, thinking he wants me to see it. We get to his shop, but he doesnt show me his nice truck he shows me the junker. He said "Take all the parts you want". All the sudden my truck is going from being on the road in months to just weeks. Just like Santa came to visit. Heres a list of what Im going to take off of it...

Windshield
rear solid glass
gauge cluster
tailgate
tailites
bedliner
cab tank & hardware
ps pump for small block
pullies
dipstick
& anything else I see that looks interesting...corn

I would really try to do something nice for that guy. Steer some business his way or get him a nice Christmas present...those parts are worth some coin and he just gave them to you! NICE SCORE...but don't forget the guy that gave them to you.

I know him, but I know his son pretty well & have helped him out with stuff. I painted his Triumph chopper & helped him put a rigid tail on it. Maybe his Dad was trying to pay back for helping out his boy. He also told me he has a 48 chevy in the body shop getting painted. He said he wanted to do ghost flames on it & said something about me doing them. Either way it was cool as hell. Oh & Ill get even with him for sure...corn

We had something like this happen right after we got our truck which had a cab that was severely sprung. We went to a truck show and ran into one of my dad's old classmates we started talking and I told him we were working on a 71 Chevy C-10 he said I have a 72 I was just going to take to the junkyard If you want it you can have it. All it was missing were the spindles the hood and drivers door. Now we have a replacement cab for free that wasn't even rusted as bad as ours was. He also let us see his car. An Olds 442 with a 455 with a BLOWER on top HOLY $HIT . The best part is he told us he would give us a call when the cars done and let us drive it. I was so happy

Its just beautiful!
