Anyone get the new LMC catalog?

Don't know that this is fair in that I've never ordered from LMC - although, I tried once but got so d@mn mad at their customer service rep that I just gave up and hung up.

Anyway, is it just me or is there serious issue with the truck displayed on the cover? Doesn't appear that the grill, fenders, or hood match up at all. Does that say anthing about their product?

Oh well, back to drinking my beer...

I Luv there catalogs, they have great pictures, I rarely order anything
from them, I use it mainly as a price guide to sell my used parts. I
have not received my latest catalog yet, but I will remember to look.

Yeah, it's lame with the focus on the aftermarket headlight too. Why not focus on the lines of the truck? They should hire my ass!

I have an old LMC catalog (from a year or so ago, maybe 2) and MUDDER's red 4x4 67 was on the cover. You never know, this months cover may be another fellow board member.

I got it yesyterday and it is a joke. the truck that is on the cover,no wait the part of the truck that is on the cover isn't lined up very well at all, and the aftermarket lights look good to me but that is it. I guess because the grill is GM and the hood and fenders are probably aftermarket and that is causing the alignment issues. Now if they had just starting selling a aftermarket grill for the 67-68 that would be worth the cover, but not headlights

You have to buy a lot of stuff from them before they put a picture of your truck in the book or the cover. I agree with luv2xclr8. I love the pictures. But have bought very few things from them. Most are China or what ever. Chevy Duty is good. But GMC Paul or Wes is better. MO

I noticed the misaligned fender and grill before I even had the magazine all the way out of the mail box. Maybe they need to start making a aftermarket grill to line up with the aftermarket fenders
I have had problems with their customer service as well.

Gotta admint, I would not have known I could get a seprate hub for my AC compressor if it had not been in the book. With that said they are overpriced and I never use them.

You do not have to be buying from them to get your truck on their cover. I was at a show in KC when the wife of the owner of LMC was going around picking trucks for a photo shoot for their covers. It was two years or better before it appeared on there. They are computer generated photos (basically photoshopped). from an original photo.

just got mine

The grill and fender are way off. If you look close they used torx head screws on the headlight bezels instead of the original phillips head.

I can tell you that the trailer hitch they sell won't even fit our trucks and the customer service was horrible. All I could get of the lady was "our catalog says it fits". I even called the company that made the hitch and they said it was for a toyota or ford. Glad I got my money back. Was first and last order from them. Use the catalog for reference only now.

In Kentucky when you register your cars the court house (or maybe Frankfort) can sell your name to contact lists unless you opt out. I hate it but that's how I started getting the LMC catalog...

OK. I'm curious. I used to get their catalogs but haven't in a while. Can someone scan that pic & post it for the rest of us to see?

Lmc

Long Motor Company. The owner is Leo Long. He started Victoria British 30 some years ago and became a millionaire selling british car parts from his catalog. He got in the truck business very late but now the truck parts outsell the british parts. His catalogs are very detailed. Actually several years ago I noticed chevy duty changing their catalog to look more like the LMC catalog on the inside.

So with this all being said, where IS the cheapest place to get parts & where can I get a catalog for the cheaper parts? I have the LMC catalog but most of the parts are way out of my price range.

Yeah, well

I've bought from LMC (Long Motor Company) and several board vendors too. I've heard folks here complain about problems with LMC, Jegs, Summit and everyone in between. As a purchasing agent for a Fortune 100 Company let me say this one thing, then I'll go away in silence: no supplier is perfect, they all have problems at one time or another. Board vendors are quick to resolve issues since you typically speak to an owner; with LMC, Jegs, Summit and other multi-million dollar a year companies you speak with "staff". I've had very few suppliers that will not ultimately do the right thing when it comes to satisfying a customer whether it is a supplier we spend $10MM a year with or $2M. LMC would not have remained in business as a viable aftermarket supplier if they weren’t doing things right the vast majority of the time. Do they make mistakes, I’m sure they do. But, if escalated to the right level of management in a civil tone I'm sure they too would do the right thing and satisfy the customer. These trucks were far from perfect, when it comes to fit and finish, when they were new.

As far as re-touched pictures go.... have you ever seen a Playboy magazine?

You are right in many respects but they are expensive compared to most of the other retailers. Because of that I have never purchased from them so I don't know how their Customer Care is.

Retouched???? There was nothing retouched on my truck other than the LMC logo they put on the front plate. It was a computer (photoshopped) pic.

The lower rear patch panel I bought for a long/fleet did not have any body-line (crease) at the edge of the wheel arch. As someone else mentioned, LMC customer service stated that "the catalog says it's right" and "no one else has complained about the part" (that's the short version). They offered to take it back at my shipping expense.

That said, the local 67-72 shop (DC truck parts) stocked the same part. I ended up cutting some good patches out of a junk box (at DC truck parts) and the LMC patch is still sitting in my garage.

Everything else in the LMC order was fine, but their customer service lost any future business from me.
