Well after one of the worst weeks I ever had I finally had something good happen. Last week the neighbor skipped town after he was told he was evicted. Come to find out He was wanted in OH for some thing and when the landlord went in to the house had found the mail for half the neighbor hood in their house. Any way to day I seen a Burg for sale so I stop to take a look at it. It’s got a lot of rust in the rockers al the way around and it had a little bit of a dent on the passenger side. But other then that its all their and runs. Don’t now if it would be worth fixing or not I don’t know how bad it is to get patch panels for the lower quarters on the burbs . I asked the guy what he wants for it and he said he was asking 400 but I have to have it gone this week so I’m taking it to the scrap yard. He then said the salvage yard said they would give him a 100 for it so if I give him that I could have it . So I will be going to get a burb this weekend. Ill try and get some pics and see if you burb guys think it can be fixed or not.

Yeah, tough to speculate w/o pics, but that's a cheap find for a complete burb no matter what amount of rust down low. What year? 2wd or 4x4?

Congrats. Look foward to the build or the parts offerings.

Man, I can never fall into something like that. You can make a lot more than that if you had to part it out but hope you do not have to. Good find. Pictures!!! I know GMC Paul has parts to fix the panels. He is coming out with more parts for the Suburbans all the time.

Its a 71 2wd has a 250 6c in it with 3 on the tree. It has all three seats in it barn doors it was stripped from the factory so no options. No a/c radio delete plate still in dash its never been changed so its prity much a clean slate not a lot of crazey stuff to fix from the last owners. Only bad thing he has some stuff stacked on top of it and it pushed the top in a little in the back Im hpoing it will push back up with out leaving to bad of a crease in the top.

I have a 68 1/2 4x4 frame with 72 axles(fr disc) and p/s , go really well under that!

If I decide to fix this body the next thing I will need is a 4x4 frame but no axles I will be using one of the D60 and 14blt I have Im going to build a 1ton diesel out of her.

ill have to get with you after I decide what im going to do with it. It would be nice to have a frame to work from so I can drive the burb a liitle over the winter. If its rebuild able Im going to be puting a 68 GMC front end on it one peice windows and a wood bed from a truck. The drive trian is coming out of my 6.5 diesel K30. Im goint to try to make it look like it came from the factory that way.

Got a few pics brought it home today. I dont think it will be worth fixing. the Fire wall and window frame is rusted out bad. I dont mind doing the rockers but I dont think Im redy to try and weld in a hole new firewall and window frame.

I can't imagine it did without the Master Cyl.

I certainly think it was worth it. Also, Burb's are a wee bit more rare. I'd fix it.

I have a firewall and good windshield frame to donate to the cause.

If I thought I was a good enough BODY man I would probly fix it but I have never done more then rockers and small patch pannels Ive never took on a project like replacing a hole fire wall and window frame.

I would try to find a shell that is in better shape and use yours as a parts donor. I just got done sectioning in a windshied frame and what you see on your burb now is about half of what you will end up patching. There is one on E-bay now from Tn that will be closing in the next day that might be a good one to look at.
