Here's the plan, please feel free to make any suggestions.

72 model spindles(already have), front disks, 5 lug on all fours, 5 speed manuel overdrive (i love to shift), tilt steering wheel (chevy tilt van col. seems to be popular?), rebuild existing 327, rally wheels, 90 model bench, and of course Vintage Air, its hot down here.

Yes sir e that is what I did except for the manual,and vintage air I put auto and factory a/c in.

Say Bubba. That looks an awful lot like my 69 did some years back. It is a great start. The 327 is a great little motor that 5 speed sounds fun. I've had mine and now the auto is for me. Dang'd arthritus!

Wow, thanks for all the support guys! Yes I'm very happy to find all of you and I'm sure I'll need a push here and there to get this baby ready for spring. Krue I know Cordele very well, im just south of there in a town called Bainbridge. Big bike week here this weekend!!!!! As for the color Hugger good question, I haven't fully decided but im leaning toward that orangie copperish color that seems so popular. I read a post last night about a truck painted a 2000 Ford explorer Mandrain Copper or something like that. Something different but not too bright, my pipes alone are going to get enough attention!

I've been thru Bainbridge several times. Nice looking town. I was stationed in Orlando with a guy from Bainbridge but I can't remember his name to save my life.

That's the plan Powell, a cool looking hotrod thats as fun to work on as it is to drive. I bet all eight plugs could be pulled with an end wrench.

Just for you guys I went out and put air in the tires again! Add four new tires to "the plan" list which brings up a good question. I like the rallies, any suggestions there and a good healthy tire size to go with them?

Click my avatar for an enlarged picture. I have the 5-lug later-model 8" wide Ralleys; truck has a 72 disk brake front & rear drum axle swap. Couldn't find any deep trim-rings, and so had to go with the shorter ones. The look sort of "grew on me," so I think I'll stick with them. Plus, they're a lot easier to find that style ring in a dent-free.

Tires are P255-70R15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT. Cheap - just over $ 400 installed & balanced for five. Reasonably cool-looking, & very smooth-riding/quiet. Not wide-fats, but I'm not a racer-look guy. At least, not anymore.

Thanks Shortstep, I'm putting down your info and will strongly consider it as well. Very much the look I'm after as well. I'll be sure to take and post plenty of pics, be foolish not to take advantage of all this experience. Oh David, just for you I went out and found a similar GM color. It's on a late model Sunfire, dont know the color yet but shouldnt be too difficult to run down. Not sure where the heck my head was there, thanks for straighting out that lil waver.

Thanks Guy and so does my budget. A lot depends on what expense I run into on the right trans....with a 4:11 posi im going to need a pretty decent overdrive to drive 65mph comfortably to work.

Welcome!Sounds like a good plan for your truck.I just picked up a 3.40 posi set-up for my 12-bolt.That`s a good swap to get it rolling and still has pullin`power.Add overdrive...

Oh yeah,I was going to comment on your tires already having vintage air,but was beat to it.Mine has 2 flats,too.

Keep in mind you'll need all new ball joints and tie rod ends to go with the 72 spindles. There is a thread in here somewhere about which tie rod ends you need to get to hook the 68 stuff up to the 72 spindles.

I'm going with a super T-10 in mine. Would prefer a 5 or 6 speed, but I have the super t-10 in stock

Edit: Your tires should be fine, they're only flat on the bottom.

Yeah, I've read and saved those articles Jim, lots of good stuff here. I have a complete 72 C20 lwb im using as a parts truck. Kinda like the lil fast revvving 283 thats in it but hey....gotta go 327.
