72 Factory air

My 72 has factory air and the cooling lines going to the evaperator core are cold. The air coming from the vents is not. I replaced the vacuum operated heater hose valve thinking it might be leaking. No improvement. The air is just slightly cool. Suggestions? What about a manual shut off valve on the heater core? I don`t even know if the heater core would be the problem when in the A/C mode. Help! Thanks, Joe

An easy way to tell if its hot water flowing to your heater thats the problem is to just loop the heater hose from the manifold to the pump. Then you know there is no hot water flowing to the heater. If that cures the cooling problem then its time to check all the vacuum lines and the vacuum control on the HVAC control on the dash.
Check out this post for diagram:

AC info

WOW! I had the same prob.

!. Check hot cold cable by cowl passenger mine was off adjustment
2. Recycle air vent open(right kick panel vent)
3. Make sure hot water valve is closed(I put a manual one in line from Lowe's)

just my .02 worth

good luck
