LED Tails
Hey guys. New to the board but have been surfing for some time now. As of 9/23 I will be the proud owner of a 1972 Custom 10 SWB. 350/350 with a mild cam and weiand IM. Lowered, not sure how much, with a decent interior. I will get pics up ASAP. With that said, I was wondering how many of you have done the LED tail lights from EC?? Thanks guys.

I don't think you can buy any good working LED TLs for the fleetsides right now. The last run of several hundred had an electronics problem and are being re-engineered.
I have been working with the manufacturer and EC (they didn't believe me at first ) to ID the problems and solutions. They believe me now!!! I will be testing the new ones in the next couple weeks, I hope, and should have them soon. As always, I will test them before I sell them and I will still have better prices. If you want updates & info just PM or Email me and I will put you in line for the new ones when I get them. |

I'VE GOT A SET FOR MY 71 PROJECT, BUT IT'S A WAYS FROM BEING ROADWORTHY. I DID HOWEVER JUST PUT 4 4" ROUND LED TAILIGHTS IN MY 69 TOW TRUCK. WOW!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE. THEY ARE PROBABLY 3 TIMES AS BRIGHT. THEY SEEM TO WORK SO GOOD THAT I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED TO SEE THEM BECOME MANDITORY ON ALL NEW VEHICALS. I KINDA LIKE EM BUT CAN'T REALLY COMMENT ON YOUR PARTS VENDOR AS I'VE NEVER DEALT WITH THEM. JOHN

I got a round set for my stepside and hooked them up, they worked well but I did not like the look. The lense was more orange than red and kinda looked icky. I ended up using the stock taillights.

Jegs has a kit for 100 bucks if i remember right. Never heard anything bad about the stuff, the tri 5 chevy guys buy from this company. These don't have as many LEDs in there as the ones you guys are talking about, and you do have to hard wire them in (cut out the plug and splice in the LAD assembly) but, other than that they are supposed to be good. I've been thinking of getting a set on the longhorn. These 1157's pretty much blow after getting used to the home made conversion on the 69 GMC I had.
