Okay, Temp Gauge is Kicking My Butt
I thought I had the problem narrowed down to an open on the printed circuit board. I replaced the printed circuit board...now the temp gauge pegs to the H side...and no it's not HOT.
Anyone got any suggestions? I appreciate any help.

Does it stay pegged if you disconnect the wire from the sender?

it is grounded out somewhere, that is what happens when you ground the sending unit wire to the engine block, so I'm pretty sure you have a short somewhere. Randy

Did you make sure the wire on the sending unit isn't touching anywhere except for where it attaches? Randy

No, the sending unit wiring is not touching anything. It's a brand new wiring harness (engine and under dash), new sending unit, new dash. There was an open in the circuit panel on the dash, but the guy who reburbished it sent me a new one.
????

Have you checked the resistor itself? That would be the only thing left. I mentioned this in the other thread about a temp gauge a short while ago. The tamp resistor ahould measure aroung 52 ohms of resistance iirc. I have had this many times and the resistor was the culprit. You can get a new one from fixagauge .com for about $8 I think I may have one of the fixagauge resistors here for $10.00 shipped to you if you need it. Randy
