Sounds like good beginning to story, more details would add to the drama!!

Inside of top painted to match looks wrong to me. Also looks like rag top snaps on tailgate. I like the stock appearance. Ask lots of questions and get more pics if interested.

I saw a very nice original white hatch last weekend which was painted green inside. It was supposed to be off a '69 Blazer. Could painting the inside to match the truck be a '69 only thing?

Rockers sure are rusty for a vehicle garaged since '73.

Did you notice were the spare is located? That's wild.

Missing the transfer case shift pattern sticker on the glove box.

One thing to note "per the story" is that it was delivered in 68 so that could be a prototype model(spare, top roof painted, etc).

I think the "garaged" part does not mean "stored" since then, only that it was parked there at night or so. The rust looks like surface only.

If the interior top painted was an early blazer thing, then I may paint my 69 top also(inside), looks good

Anyway, if true, its a great deal if that is only rust....

One more thing, if its truly one owner, a check with that states DMV could prove story correct by confirming registration years in system

The factory spare tire bracket is lying on the floor behind the seat. I'm guessing the spare is only propped up there.

305 was a GM motor but 307 were offered in the blazer so he might on cofused it.

That rust is a little more than surface, it's got holes in the rockers.

I just bought an original 69 hatch and the inside is painted body color. From what I understand early 69's came with the inside of the top painted to match.

My '69 top is painted body color on the inside as well and mine was unrestored. That truck looks exactly like mine was suppose to look.

My '69 (which was re-painted at some point in its life) had the green paint inside the top under the white paint.

I am an engineer at Warn - I'll ask some of the old guys if they know a Frank Hegar - and if there is any validity to this story...

Okay - so I asked one of they engineers at Warn who has been here for 36 years to speak to this. His response:

"...It may have been a test truck. I doubt that GM gave it to Frank or Warn Sales or Bellview Manufacturing (as the winch division was called at the time).

Frank did wind up with several company rigs that were in use about that time though. Don't remember a Blazer - but that doesn't mean anything..."

i think this is the real deal and a good buy at that, but a closer look would have to be in order.
