Dash Pad Question (Confused)

I just recently took out the remains of the dash pad that was in my 70 C20. I had to unscrew the center and took out the small nuts under the dash. While rousing through my favorite junkyard I came across a very clean dash pad out of a 69 C10, or 20 , don't remember, not even sure about the year now. I didn't pay attention to the details of it having the holes for the screws in the center, it was smooth from end to end. I was just happy I scored a clean dash pad for next to nothing. It fits in nicely, with a little difficulty on the ends though.

My question is, What the difference in year for the dash pad? Does it really matter? I'm just looking for some input because when I look in the catalogs I don't see any difference in years, or its not mentioned about there being a difference. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for the welcome.

As far as I can tell, there were other dashpads exactly like the one found, but they were dry rotted or bent to hell for whatever reason. And a few others had the center screws in them, in worse condition. I guess I'll pay better attention to the year on my next visit this Saturday.

I have changed many of them and have never noticed a difference in any.
I have always installed mine with the addition of a little liquid nails to secure it.
Just note that after you install it with liquid nails, It will not come off again reusable.
The best note is that the end result is smooth and clean.

It sounds like one of those ABS dash pad covers on it. They are a molded skin that goes on top of your original pad. They don't have the screw holes in them.

I am thinking about replacing mine in the future with a full dash cover with the places for gages made into it bY "JUST DASHES". They are not cheap but I love the look.

Ive got one of those "just dashes" dash pads. They are not cheap $299.00! Dont have a pic yet but its installed. I used double sided industrial strength tape to get the pad to sit smooth on the dash by the windshield. They dont like to sit smooth to the metal... As with anything on these old trucks, improvising is key

Yes I know but I am still going to get one someday. Oh yes, in case I have not told you nitro-welcome to the board from Kentucky. You say that Mothertruckers makes these dashes now? Did he copy Just Dashes?

$299.00? You must have gotten red? I didn't think they were quite that high. With the gas the way it is they might have gone up. Where did you get yours?

86swb Igot mine from "just dashes" in California... Its usually $399.00 but was on sale for $299.00 plus an extra $55 to ship it oversize (length). It is black, not red. Would have required me to send in a color sample so they could match...

The picture you have is a red truck and thought the interior would also be red. Most of these I have seen have been between $200 and $300. But never priced them from "JUST DASHES". I am sure the $399.00 is retail from them. Would like to see pictures with the dash in your truck.
