That's pretty cheap for hooks in that condition, wait till it's almost over

I guess I still can't understand the reason that you would pay that much for something that is just for show. I guess it's like buying a "muffler bearing". I can think of a lot of other things to get for the truck with that kind of money. And yes, they'll most likely go higher......

This set of non-extreme bend 69-72 hooks sold the other day for $255. They're nice, but not that nice.

send them to me, I have a torch and a vice, they'll be "EXTREME BEND" when I get done with them!! I have a set of "recovery hooks" on my new Yukon XL and I wouldn't pay a dime for them. They work, but at $200-300 who would take the chance of breaking, scratching or even more extremely bending them!? I am with the other guys, spend the money somewhere else. Outside of our little following they just look like hooks anyways, its not like some hot chick is going to point out the extreme bend hooks and hand you her number. I guess I am missing the point, I have owned 4 K5's and two 4X4 Subs, and none have had hooks, and I didn't ever find myself stuck and wishing I had them either? To each his own.

Can't you just get a pair like Huskerboy2 has shown, heat up the hooks with a good torch and twist it for the 72 twister look? Who would know?

I have seen a set that were bent. They were actually a set of 72 hooks. The guy didn't like the hooks bent the same way. It looked absolutely AWFUL! Probably just a schlock job done with a little torch.

70rs/ss, beauty and price are the choice of each person. What would be better spent on my truck? I guess since it is my truck, you cannot answer that.
Not trying to be rude but the fact is, to each his own.
I would not waste money on a "killer" flame paint job but some will. Should I think they are foolish?

If I had not bought a set already I'd be all over them, just for comparison,
I paid more and mine were in OE condition. (Not blasted and Re-painted)

*Edit - when I say I paid more they were @ $275, no idea where it will stop

Noone is asking ya'll for your opinion on the price. If you don't like them, don't buy them, but don't badmouth the people that do want them. Keep it friendly.

I saw a set of that style on a 72 3/4 ton truck in Nebraska last week, the truck was for sale, I may have to stop by when I go back through this wednesday.
The last set of that style I bought was on a 73 1 ton dually 2 wheel drive, the farmer claimed he bought the truck new and they were on it, he didnt want to sell till I offered him 100 bucks. This was at a truck stop and neither of us had the tools to get them off so we took it over to the tire shop and they did it no charge.

Got the hooks today, 30 bucks for them and a 4x4 shift knob that was taken off when the truck was only 1 month old, looks brand new!

Both of these will be on the 68 this weekend

Thanks, I was'nt expecting the shift knob, I asked him why he extendid the TC/ shifter and put a homemade T handle on it, it seems his wife had trouble shifting in and out of 4 wheel drive and this made it much easier for her. The knob was in a small box inside the glove box. The truck only had a little over 50,000 miles on it but was very rough, they used it mainly for feeding the cattle till he bought a John Deer Gator last year.
