BB heat shield

Can someone supply a picture or tell me exactly where the BB exhaust heat shield on the floorboard is located? I have an original BB 70 GMC and have not seen it yet, I thought it was on the bottom of the firewall, but I'm not sure. Haven't looked under the bottom yet (not for this anyway). Just want to make sure it's there, or if I need to find one for later. Thanks

not very clear picture.but there are 2 bolts that hold it to the lower firewall, just behind where the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe attaches.

Is this on ALL factory BB's (Chevy & GMC)? My 70 2wd GMC is a factory BB, but I don't see the plate there. Of course this truck stays in the shed mostly, I'll have to study it closely Monday while I'm off. Greg

I believe that the heat shield was only on the 71 - 72 BB. My 69 is also a factory BB truck and it has no holes like those shown on the above pic.

cabs

Do all cabs have the proper holes or dimples for them from factory for proper location?

I don't have the shield on my 70 GMC BB. Have seen it posted hear before that there are dimples in the floor where the shiled goes, but I've never looked. Greg
