Today's accomplishment
Got the front frame tore down to this. I will begin with removing the ball joints and strip the a-arms down to be powder coated or imron Black painted....Might as well do the same to this lower X-member...

GM Spring Decals
Here is one of the original front coil spring decal stickers for a C/20 402 T-400 with A/C P/S Disc Brakes and 16.5" rims. This truck was also originally a Custom Camper edition. In my Camaro ID'ing, the more the options and weight class etc, the front springs decal ID's and part #s will change. So, this is the correct Decal ID GM part # from this application!

GM Front Spindle Paint
Got these off today and found the asembly line paint swipe on the backside of the upper section of the spindle.
It appears as such: White paint dabbed first, the a baby blue color over the top of that one. I looked the lower portion of the spindle and there was none of this there. I assume, for resto purposes, that the white was for the first torque securing ID'ing, and the blue was for the 2nd securing. I am sure this was done so that the final check off of all safety items were checked off! This application is from the same truck above: C/20 402/T-400 Custom Camper front Disc Brakes...

Are these original???
Same truck: C/20 CC 402 A/C etc etc They are stamped GM, with the part # of 4974666; both L/R shocks have the same #s on them. I will post all the #s off the bottom of these as I can... It also says: 072-86-1

man you're getting a lot of work done dude! Hey do you still want the front A arms and stuff? I've been having trouble finding a box big enough to fit it all in. you know, the ones I have are actually rusted worse than the ones you already have. they were covered in caked mud and stuff and it really screwed 'em up, but with a drill, a wire wheel, and a couple hours work they'd be OK.

Well, I was interested in them but I now have these off. I was looking at redoing a set to have ready for install but I see I have more work than I need currently!
I will let them pass; although I'd like to have them, I agree that costs and boxing may be taxing on all of this!

Actually, I am leaning towards repainting the entire frame; Im this far!
I dont know how to paint but the frame would be a great test bed for my learning! Anybody offer me any suggestions on repainting the frame myself? Never painted before! I would desire that Imron Black as it would be tough for useage! I do have local access to a chem strip facility so I could have it all stripped to a non-rustyed phosphate finish for paint... Thoughts anyone???

On my Longhorn, is there any way to tell the rear axle gears from the outside besides spinning the wheels/pinion?
Was a Posi ever available for these? I believe that this is an Eaton rear axle with the slide out ring/pinion center section alike a Ford 9"
