Thumbs down western union money orders

wester union money orders
dont use them they will not i repeat do not use them
they will not even cash ther own money orders
i received a western union m.o. for sumthing i sold and i took the m.o. to the local wester union m.o. place and thay said the couldnt cash it
i ask why they couldnt cash it , she said they just dont cash them
so i got back home and called the customer service no# on the back of the western union m.o. and they also told me they dont have to cash them and said most of there outlets dont cash them ,i also asked the customer service person why they dont cash there own money orders she told me that there outlets are owned by independant<sp? bussiness and it was up to them to cash them or not

ok in my book that isnt saying any thing good about there own product if they wont even cash there own money orders

I have the same thing with my credit union and postal money orders, they won't cash or deposit them, period! Had to go to the post office and I told them about it and she said that morning she got 2 counterfit ones herself. I investigated further and the credit union in one day lost $14000 because of bad postal money orders.

Plus when you pay with a USPS MO and get gypped they can charge the crooks with mail fraud.

Western Union money orders suk!!! it took me 2 western unions and 2 banks later to finally get my cash. I definately prefer a Postal money order over most other methods. The best recieving and paying method that I prefer is Paypal.

I think i'm going to go this route from now on. Money Orders are such a PITA

The only ones you can get cashed are USPS from the Post Office..and they take your License#, Phone#, Addy etc. etc.

I've had the same experience with not being able to cash WesternUnion Money Orders. I got a "Wal-Mart" money order the other day for some stuff i sold and wal-mart wouldn't cash it...i had to cash it @ my bank and they put a hold on it

If someone asks for a Money order when i buy something...if it is under $50 I just send cash - heck i've sent American Cash to Canada and have never had a problem with it not getting to where it is supposed to go. I usually just wrap it up in a few sheets of paper too look like a letter so that you can't hold it up to a light and see the cash.
Over $50 I'll try to send USPS MO's -

CASH, PayPal or USPS is the only way to do it now.

1st of all I don't ship till I have cash in hand or a cleared check. 2nd I always us Postal MO, although now I may second guess that. and 3rd if I do use Western Union it's to recieve money that is sent from a buyer. I have sold a few renderings this way and I just take the confirmation number and sender info to WU and get my money.

I use Bank of America money orders.I`ve sent out dozens in the last year.Never heard any complaints. You can get cashiers checks, too.I`d never send cash in the mail.I would accept and prefer to send personal checks. You just have to let it clear before you send anything out. It`s slow, but works.I ain`t in no hurry.

Man you guys are scaring me right now. I have a truck listed on ebay right now and I have listed that I accept money orders. I guess I better go cash them before I let the truck go if that is the method of payment for the truck. The other thing is that paypal is good but they charge such high fees that you lose quite a bit on there. Now i list that if they pay paypal that buyer must pay all fees.

Yes make sure the m.o. clears before the truck goes,or post cash on pickup is fine...if they are picking it up...Thats good too...I have had good luck on ebay so far...just lost a little bit ...
