Question Exhaust System

I am getting ready to replace the exhaust system on my 72 2wd blazer. Its got a stock 307 that has original manifolds. It was converted to dual exhaust with a crossover tube. I really haven't decide what to do. Should I keep my stock manifolds or go with a different one. I'm thinking about staying away from headers just for the maintenance problems. I'm not sure about what mufflers to use. I'm rebuilding a 350 right now. Probably about 350 hp. So I have to take that into consideration. I do have to replace the exhaust now because it leaks at the mufflers and with a blazer you get fumes in the cab. I'm in the process of doing a 4/6 lowering on it so the exhaust will be tucked up as close to the underside of the body as possible with some type of heat sheilding. Also what are the advantages / disadvantages to a balance tube an d where should it be located. I realize that this a long post but I believe in doing it right the first time. I know everybody has an opinion on this so fire away.
