Found a Burb

I found a 71-72 2wd c10 burb about 10 minutes from home, didnt have time to stop. I am going to go scope it out today, but am not real familiar with Burbs. Any suggestions on what to look for besides PA rust, options, problems, etc? No for sale sign, but last inspection was 1996.

Same options as the trucks except: rear A/C, 3rd row seat, barn-doors vs. tail/liftgate, roof rack, spare tire cover, and an optional bigger gas tank. I think that's it, but I may have missed one or two. The custom package has trim right under the windows that was not on the trucks.

My '71 K20 burb has a rear heater under the 2nd seat. From what I've seen, all burbs have the two holes in the floor for the rear heater hoses. My '71 K10 burb has the holes but no heater. Here in Montana, that rear heater is really appreciated. Comes with a cylindrical pull switch on the dash at the left lower corner thru the metal.

The interiors came in different trim. A well optioned burb should have side panels all the way back save over the spare tire cavity. Any carpet can cover the entire burb to include a separate piece over the wood floor. Jack & handle should be in the spare tire cavity. Tinted windows was another option.

Don't forget seat belts for all positions. Might not have been mandatory, but they could have them all the way back as do my C10 and K20 burbs.

Look to see that the rust hasn`t effected the structure for the hinges in back, the cross-sill or jamb.

They had a roof rack option? Did not know that. I will have to look at mine to see if it has the heat holes you are talking about 4x4poet.

Well, I always thought mine was factory, and I've seen others with the same one, but it isn't separately listed on the placard. I thought it may have been lumped in with the "Cust Comf Eq." Maybe a dealer install?

I just found out the roof rack was a dealer installed option. I asked my Dad. He bought the Burb new about 36 years ago.

Finally got over to check out the burb, it has a roof rack, not sure if it was factory installed. 72, 6cyl, 3spd, panels are straight, but has all the standard rust, the guy who owns it is a body man, not selling, maybe next time. thanks for the info.
