Drag race?

Do any of you guys drag race your truck? I want to get 67-69 and make it a street/strip truck and I am wondering how well they hook with sock truck arms, and is their any way to adjust the rear?

Thanks Josh

they will hook pretty will with a good set of tires and a posi. the best way to make em hook up is to replace the stock coil springs with a set of coilovers and tune the suspension

Yes they will hook pretty good, had a '70 daily driver with a BBO 468 that ran consistent 12.60s@112-115 after towing the "racecar" to the track! It had stock arms under it, and was lowered. I've seen a couple of these run in the 10s with stock rear suspension under them, save rear springs and an anti-roll bar.

I think mine weighed 4100 with me in it, a/c and everything, so it can definitely go down from there. I've got a buddy with a '67 blown alky small block truck that has ran as fast as 9.46@146, but it only weighs 2800!!

I bought a 67 drag truck that has been 5.32 in the eighth and low 9's clicking it off early. I am putting it on a diet and can't wait to get it to the track! I have a smaller motor but hope to run just about as fast! I got these for it today!

nice vc's DJ! (check my sig ) My SWB '68 with an iron headed 496 weighs 3820 without me in it. All stock rear suspension lowered 2.5" in the front and 4" in the rear. If I can ever get my act together I'll have some 1/8th mile numbers to throw at ya!
