I started driving in`71.They were pretty new,so nobody was too eager to let me drive one.I worked for a contractor that summer and got to drive his`67 C/30 dump truck.It was a bare-bones work truck:292,4spd,manual all the way,no radio.I loved it`cause I built the models when they came out and loved the change in body-style.I couldn`t believe I was driving it and operating the dump.I bought my own in`73,a`72 C/10 CustomDeluxe w/Highlander Pkg.I only know that now because it had a plaid seat and those Monte Carlo hub caps.I put 16.5s on it,8.25 on front/9.25 on rear,painted black with 55 car dog-dishes.It was a 307/3spd and I put dual exhaust on it.Oh yeah,and an under dash 8-track,of course.

Since 1985 for me...I put over 550,000 miles on my 69 cst/10 350 a/c truck that has had 2 motors,1 trans and the rear 3.73 posi tnblazerk5 has right now..up untill 2 years ago,now its a rollback in the making...Had at least 3 trucks at the same time...I have 5 sitting here now....My uncle had a 70 K/30 single wheel truck we grem us around hauling junk to the scrap yard for years...A tried to get the truck,his son got it,and wrecked it...Not many 70 K/30's were made...

Hmm bought my first one in '88, and sold the last one 2 years ago. There have been 13 in between those two! I'm looking for a keeper to build right now.

uhh.....my dad has been driving on of these(or older) since 1968ish(head calculation) and loved them. on vacations, i got to drive my uncles around(all 4 spds) ever since a couple years back. then, in July, i got my own and plan on holding on to it forever.

Since 1977, my dad had a 71 GMC with a 351 v6. What a stump puller. I bought my own 71 chevy in 1979. I had that truck till about 7 years ago. I am currently restoring 2 at the moment.

I got my first one May of 97 if I remember right.
neighbor guy had a 69 GMC LWB 1/2 ton...that was the one that got me hooked. I've always liked these since I was a kid though... always did prefer the GMCs though.

I started last October when I bought my 71 C10. I only bought it for a beater truck, but it didnt take me long to get attached to it. Now I own 2, and I'm only 17.

I bought a 69 panel truck in 73 and drove it untill around 83. I went through a couple of engines, trannies, and rear ends in that length of time.

I tried to get my first one the summer of '85. I was 16. It was a green '67 SWB Fleetside, 6 cyc, 3 on the tree. Denied.

I tried to get my first one again in the spring of '86. It was a brown '70 LWB Fleetside, 350, auto. Denied.

Last year I again tried to get my first one. It is a 1972 GMC SWB fleetside, factory air, ps, pbs. 307 automatic. My wife was easier to convince than my father was.

I haven't driven it much (yet), but there is plenty of time for that later. I am keeping this one forever. It took me 20 years to finally get one.

Currently I am in the process of a frame off restoration. This picture was taken yesterday.

I have already rebuild the engine. Currently working towards getting a nice rolling chassis.

I haven't been driving it long, but I intend to drive it for a long time.

my dad had a 69 and when i went to take my drivers liscense test in 1999, i passed an he let me drive his truck home. Ive worked on that truck ever since i was 8 years old. I drove his truck for to years back and forth to work for awhile before I joined the Marine Corps. I went to Japan for my first duty station and saved up a little money and bought my first truck ever and that was my '70 that i have now. Ill never let it go.

Had one in high school around 95 or 96, was my granpas, he died then my stapdad got it, my stepdad drove it for awhile, and I did some work to it drove it for about 2 months and was hooked. Damn thing caught on fire on burnt to ground in my driveway. Had a 396bb with 400 tranny. Took me about 5 or 6 yrs to get another one, my current.

2002 for the truck. First one of this era. Now 67-72s......that would be since 1972 when I got my license, they just weren't trucks...some not even GM.

My dad had a '69 SWB 350, 3spd. I flipped it end over end when I was 15 (1994). I had borrowed it without permission. I had been begging my dad to get me a truck before I turned 16. As they pulled it up on the roll-back, my dad said, "you wanted a truck..well, there it is." A year later, it was a '69 Step w/350 and automatic. It went through all five of us boys. I've own four...three '69 Steps and one Fleet

I bought my '69 in December, drove it 8 miles. It's been started up and moved maybe 4 times at home since then. So I think I've been driving them for a total of about 30 minutes thus far!

I fell in love with these trucks in 1983, but didn't get one until 2000. I gave that one to my son for a father/son project on his 15th b-day. We're getting close to getting it on the road. Bought my daily driver last fall, and I don't think I will ever be without one again. I might upgrade or add a blazer too, but I'm addicted to the 67-72 body style. The 4 eyed gmc's really got to me.

I bought my '69 gmc in 1988. Drove it for 2 1/2 years in vo-tech and beat it to death. Its still partly here as a trailer. I've had 7 in all. 3 for parts and 3 driven, plus 1 in the back for a future project. I current have 2 running and the project.

I was doing electrecal work in 1972 and the boss bought a new 1972 Chevy Long bed that I drove. That was the first one I ever drove. The first one I owned was in (I think 1979. It was a 1972 blue and white Chyanne (sp). Have had three since. I now have the 1970 Suburban. Had a '70 Short Bed but gave it to my Son-In-Law for him and my Grandson to restore someday. That is the truck I had when I was on GMC Pauls truck board. Had some health problems. Touch and go for a while. But am just fine now. Knock on wood.

i used to sit in my dads lap and steer his 72 in about 1992-1994, then in 2000 i bought my 71 C10, 2001 i bought the K20 frame, and 2004 i bought the 69 swb... thats the only three drivers, but i also have a 67 i traded around at a junkyard and got for parts

My Dad had a '67 in 1988 and then a '69 in 1991, so naturally my first vehicle when I turned 16 was a '72 Cheyenne in 1995. I had it until this last January when it was stolen and never recovered.
