Factory AM/FM radio (whats it worth)

I had a guy call me and wanted to see if I was interested in a 70 short bed before he sent it to the crusher but it was kinda rough, I was able to get some parts off of it for a fee before he sent it to the scrap yard. I got a factory am/fm radio and it is in very good cond. but I am not sure if it works or not.
I was just wondering what they go for because I am going to let it go , I have a CD player in my truck and really have no use for it.

I'd say about $10 shipping to CA...lol No, really I do not know. You can check Evil bay. They are on there from time to time. I'd like to have an original AM radio and get it converted to XM. I saw a website once that does that, but I can't find it now.

I would think that it is worth a bit more than 30.00 bucks, If I have the time I may try and hook it up and see if it works and if not see if I can carry it to a buddy of mine that has an electronics repair shop and see what it would cost to fix it if it does not work. I will load some pics of it.

If it works and its clean it will bring good money on ebay! I'd say 200.00 plus if its clean and you have all the knobs!

am/fm's are getting that much on e-bay now? I did not know they were that rare. I guess my little $30.00 is out. Looks like you did good and to think that radio was headed for the crusher. Good save.

Yep, I've seen them go over $300 on eBay (sorry to ruin it for the lowballers )

Then again, someone bid up and paid $120 for a harness I pulled out of a parts truck I've also picked up some stuff CHEAP. So you never know with eBay

Lowballers, I am not sure if that is a complyment. I guess I did good when I got mine ten years ago. Paid $50.00 restored. But that was ten years ago.

Am/fm

PICS, It does not have any knobs and is missing one plug on the back, I am going back to check out the truck tomarrow and see if I can find that plug. It had some surface rust minor on the top and bottom plate so I media blasted them and painted them the same color gray, other that that when I had the top and bottom plates off it looked to be pretty clean inside and all of the buttons and knobs work.

That does not look like my radio. Mine has the silver slide on top and I do know it is OE. That looks like after market maby. Did they make one like that for our years from factory?

That's from an 80's GM turck, I had one just like it in my '81. The one in a 67-72 should be chrome and have knobs that match the cigarette lighter and knobs on the cluster.

Sorry, I retract that $30.00 offer. Do not need that one. I got rid of the one I had something like that when I first bought my "86. But I did find out that my radio is worth more than I thought.
