motor mounts
all,
i am in the process installing my engine. i bought mounts from autozone (i know they are cheap) anyways i tried to put the bolt in the middle that goes to the frame, the bolt threads all the way in, but the bolt feels loose inside the mount itself even threaded all the way down is this normal?? i was wondering if anyone can tell me how their engine mounting went & give me some insight on how exactly how the bolt goes into the mount and then to the frame mount?? thanks for the responses!!! |

Some of the cheaper mounts use different size bolts. I once bought two matching brand new in the box, exact same part, exact same brand number mounts at the parts store, and they used two different size bolts. One was 3/8 bolt and the other 7/16.

I bought a motor mount from Autozone about a year ago. For some strange reason it had a metric thread in it. I think it was an M8.

I got some about a year ago ---made in taiwan, had metric centers 10mm. I took them back. I got a trans mount that also had metric holes in it.

My mounts had a metric thread also. I took my Tap/Die set and rethreaded it for SAE threads and put a locknut on it just to be safe.
