shocks for lowered trucks....

Question about shocks. I have a 84 swb that I want to lower in the rear. I currently installed the drop hangers but need to get the drop shackels in. Before I do that I know the stock shocks won't work. Is there a shock # from another application that will work in the rear of my truck that I can get @ autozone or similar parts store???? I don't want to drop big $ for kyb's or nitro's just something that will work and will be available.

John

I don't have an answer for you, but i wanted to point out that Western Chassis and other make shock relocators.

I used stock front shocks for a 73-87 4wd burb/blazer/truck on the rear of my 74. I had to drive out the steel inserts on the bottom end so the larger stock bolts could be used.

They were the best compromise for compressed & extended length that would work @ my ride height (Western Chassis flip kit for a 8-leaf HD spring pack, BellTech shackles & WC shock extensions).

They have worked since summer of 03.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Front or rear shocks? How much drop do you have?

So many questions, so little time...
