burb seats in a pick-up Q's.....
Found a nice 90 burb @ the salvage yard. It has nice seats and console. I though of picking them up but wonder about the fitment into my 84 C-10 (actually any 81-87 cab). It appears that they will bolt up to the existing outter bolts of my bench seat. I'm sure I would have to drill new holes for the inboard tracks. Wondering about the hump area and console mounting area. Anybody done this conversion????
John

I have a Blazer seat installed on the driver side of my spare cab. I used the inboard tab from a Burb and modified seat slides from a pickup bench. The Blazer and Burb seats are real similar on the bottom side. I used the pickup seat slides since the rear mounting tab fit the pickup floor and Burb was way off.
I had to shorten the the sliding rack on the pickup seat mounts and slot the the brackets that attach the slides to the seat. You can use the existing outboard holes to position the seat to get the location of the inboard mounting points. I had the Burb seat tab cut out with extra material all the way around. A little trimming and peruasion with a hammer was all it took to get the tab fitted. I have it attached with sheet metal screws until I get both sides done and get it to my neighbor for welding. |

Thanks,
If and when I get them I'll get a extra pair of bench sliders to modify if necessary. Also thought of making a frame outta steel to mount everything to the original 4 bench seat locations. That would keep me from drilling new holes in the cab. A little powdercoating and it would be interchangeable between trucks??????? John
